As a teacher in AUHSD, I know that student truancy is a problem. I think a great idea for an app is to allow parents/guardians/etc. access to the district attendance site. That way, if a student is absent from a class parents will be alerted.
How the idea helps:
This app helps parents, especially those of troubled teens, to be more involved in their students education; it helps students stay accountable for coming to school; it helps schools recoup lost money; helps law enforcement keep kids off street.
